Susan Lang is an American artist from Baltimore, MD.
Susan has been drawing and painting all her life and is a magna cum laude graduate of the Maryland Institute, College of Art.
Susan’s primary objective when working is to connect with the subject matter and to relay this connection as faithfully as possible. She tries to tell the story of what she sees without imposing herself on the subject matter. She believes that nature dictates and she tries to record these signals in a way that is truthful and responsive to the subject.
Susan prefers working from direct observation on location and does not rely on the camera. The camera can not accurately record depth and space (much like working with just one eye open.)
